Vocal Technique

Did you know:
There's vocal technique...
And then there's the technique behind the technique.
This is something I don't hear many people talking about directly.
And if you're a Worship Leader who is new to or has never had any vocal coaching, it's something you may not think of right away or at all.
So here's what I mean.
Can you do a Lip Trill? Some people call them Lip Bubbles.
Go ahead and try it. I'll wait 😏
Did you do them? Wonderful!
Now, can you do a Lip Trill with the right technique?
A Lip Trill is a technique in and of itself - for warmups, breath control, breath pacing, vocal agility, coordination, etc etc
But how you actually DO those Lip Trills matters. If they feel anything other than effortless, there's a good chance you're forcing the trill, creating excess pressure and squeeze, and not getting the full benefits of this incredible little vocal exercise!
And this is just one example with one technique 😳
Don't panic. Just try to find resources and coaches who are teaching you the layers behind the layers.
And don't forget - growing and improving in anything is a process. Your voice included. Lord willing, the time will pass uneventful anyways and you'll look back and be so thankful that you started putting the time in NOW to stewarding your voice, leadership, and ministry.
I'm praying for you and cheering you on!
